Tom has disappeared! One minute was examining some strange murals on a sunlit island in the company of a mysterious monk called Audeladius, and the next they've both disappeared. Bridget and Madge think he may have gone off in the direction of a blurred shape on the misty horizon. Another island, Bridget presumes. Only according to the locals, there is no other island...
Tom's friends follow him into the unknown. And find themselves in what until recently had been a happy and prosperous community of nations. But now it is being torn apart by, and the authority of its leaders undermined by a sinister movement calling itself "Vital Power"...
